What‘s special about the MARTOR product naming system? The innovation is in the term “system“: for example, we have clearly divided our safety knives into four groups and taken a product property as the yardstick for what would be of great if not of greatest importance: the safety technology and the safety level reached because of it. Also our cutters and speciality knives now have a product group name in the first place, which shows you directly what kind of cutting tool it is and for what kind of application.
Example for a new safety knife:
SECUMAX
The product group name is made up SECU (= safe) and an end syllable. Together they describe the safety level.
PLUS Bladeless | |
MAX concealed blade | |
PRO fully automatic blade retraction
NORM automatic blade retraction
BASE Blade retraction and locking |
100
The identification number stands for a specific product in the group. The first number denotes the segment:
1/2 = Basic
3/4 = Comfort
5/6 = Premium
The second and the third numbers specify the product.
The following rule applies: the higher the 3-digit number the better equipped and more durable the cutting tool.
MDP
Further product-relevant information, such as MDP (made of metal-detectable plastic), SOS (for first aid purposes) or XDR (for extra dirt resistant), can be added if required.
Examples
Our newer products have a three-digit number after the group name, which in turn has a specific meaning. Example SECUMAX 150 and 350. Generally we can say, the higher the number, the better equipped the product. We differentiate between Basic, Comfort and Premium. This also applies to our new cutters and speciality knives.
Examples
Don‘t worry! You do not have to do without the product names you know so well. A EASYSAFE will always remain a EASYSAFE, a MARTEGO, a MARTEGO and an MIZAR, an MIZAR. But we have put a group name first before these individual names to make orientation easier for you. The quality and cutting performance are as good as always, but you will be able to allocate our products even better now.
Cutters
Deburring Cutters
Scrapers
Scapels
Once again we would like to show you a convenient way through our versatile product assortment: our classical cutters, whether with fixed or with retractable blade, can be recognized by the name component ARGENTAX. All cutting tools that can be used especially for deburring carry the name component TRIMMEX. All names of our scapers start with SCRAPEX and of our scalpels with GRAFIX. The same rule applies here as well as with the safety knives: New cutters and speciality knives are followed by a 3-digit number, old products with the “old name”. All these are changes, which certainly have to be learned, but which will guide you to a product selection that fits best to your needs.
