Company founded by E. Helmut Beermann.

PROFI: the world’s first TÜV-certified safety knife – the international breakthrough for the Solingen knife manufacturer.

MARTOR becomes a family business. Together with the company founder, Gudula Polei (nee Beermann) and Emil Polei now head the firm as managing partners.

MARTOR continues to grow with the establishment of the French subsidiary, MARTOR SARL.

MARTOR presents a world first: OPTISAFE with fully automatic blade retraction, the safety technology in today’s SECUPRO family.

New series of cutting tools especially for the food industry: MARTOR safety knife made of metal detectable plastic.

MARTOR passes to the third generation. Sonja Hendricks, granddaughter of the company founder, becomes the majority partner.

MARTEGO is introduced as our first SECUPRO squeeze-grip safety knife.

MARTOR presents its new brand appearance at the trade fair A+A in Duesseldorf.

Two further innovations extend our portfolio: the SECUNORM 380, the world's first safety knife with a cutting depth exceeding 7 cm, and the SECUPRO 625, a premium squeeze-grip knife for the toughest tasks.

2018

MARTOR launches the successor to the legendary SECUNORM PROFI: the new SECUNORM 500 safety knife.

2019

Sonja Hendricks becomes general partner.

2019

MARTOR expands its company premises. A new production facility and administration block are put into operation at Lindgesfeld 28.

2019

MARTOR continues to grow. In addition to MARTOR SARL in France, MARTOR USA also becomes part of the Group as a 100% associated company.

2020

Long-lasting sharpness: MARTOR launches its new ceramic blades designed for the existing MARTOR knife range.

2020

The company is certified according to the environmental management standard DIN EN ISO 14001:2015.

2021

Sonja Hendricks becomes sole partner for the MARTOR Group.
Day-to-day operations are managed by two external managing directors.

2021

Our SECUPRO 625, SECUPRO MARTEGO and SECUPRO MERAK squeeze-grip knives are the first three work knives to be certified as "ergonomic products" by the IGR e.V. (the Nuremberg-based institute for health and ergonomics).

2022

MARTOR UK is now also part of the MARTOR group.

Brand experience and training centre: The new showroom, the MARTOR WORLD, is officially opened at the Solingen headquarters.

The ECO by MARTOR product family made from recycled plastic is launched - and has been continuously expanded ever since.

MARTOR will be presenting its new sustainable and modular trade fair stand concept for the first time at A+A 2023.

At A+A 2023, MARTOR will be presenting the world first SECUNORM 610 XDR, the first safety knife as a universal bag opener.
